Picture-it-Painted

Looking to add a little color to your community?

Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation is seeking applicants to receive complimentary paint for use in restoration or beautification projects. Picture-It-Painted is a partnership between The Foundation and Valspar Corporation, and is part of The Foundation’s donor partnership initiatives to engage more donors throughout southern Minnesota . Interested organizations must use the paint for visual impact which provides a public benefit to the community while involving volunteer participation. Selection for this program is based on the visual impact of the project, public benefit to the community, volunteer or youth service involvement, and current or intended use of the structure.

"Over the past eight years we have been able to provide more than 3500 gallons of free paint to 104 agencies within the 20 county area, bringing local volunteers together to brighten up their communities,” said Trixie Ann Golberg, Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation president. According to Golberg, the high degree of volunteer and community commitment to Picture-It-Painted projects results in partnerships between generations, public and private sectors, skilled artists, and enthusiastic amateurs.
